Sunny Rey Azzarito

Sunny's story is one of resilience and triumph. Despite being born into homelessness and facing the challenges of foster care and adoption, Sunny emerged as a strong advocate for change. With nearly two decades of experience in the social work arena and three published books to her name, Sunny brings a wealth of knowledge and compassion to Poets Underground. Her passion for helping others find their voice through poetry is at the core of her work. 

Anthony Azzarito 

Anthony is not only a 10-year Army Veteran but also a published poet and a current psychology major. His journey into poetry began as a form of self-expression during his high school and into his military service, where he found solace and healing in the power of words. Now, as a co-owner of Poets Underground, Anthony is dedicated to creating a space where others can experience the same transformative power of poetry that he did. 

 Together, Anthony and Sunny form a powerhouse poetry duo, leading Poets Underground with a shared vision of inclusivity, creativity, and community impact. Their blended family of seven, which includes four sons and one daughter, serves as a constant reminder of the importance of their work in building a better future for the next generation.
